- Fixes a display issue of the alternating background introduced in version 4.1

- Fixes a toggle issue in the Side Bar Editor in the Shares section, which showed hidden items as selected
Hmmm since 4.1 and 4.1.1 I can’t connect to my Synology shares via smb anymore. I am using Favorites in the left panel. Any idears how to fix this?
Ok – after a reboot – I can connect to my network-shares again! 🙂
Good to hear that that wasn’t an issue with ForkLift.
Why do all the icons of mounted volumes flash when you click on one of them?…
And why when you want to unmount one volume by clicking on his eject icon, ForkLift offers to unmount EVERYTHING?…
1. We are not aware of the flashing issue. In version 4.0.7 the selection jumped to the Macintosh HD or the main drive from the selected items in the sidebar, which was fixed in version 4.1. Do you mean that or a different issue? If you mean a different issue, then please take a screen recording and send it to us at support [at] binarynights [dot] com. Please record the entire ForkLift window. Also let us know which theme you use.
2. When a disk has more volumes, then ForkLift asks if you want to eject only one or all of them, unfortunately, in some cases, it also ask if you want to eject all if there is only one volume. We will try to fix that.
Hi AgnesBinary, the problem I am talking about is only cosmetic. But, this can be disruptive and above all, we learned with this version 4 that many aspects of the software are “fragile”. So, for my part, I am very cautious with this new version which has not definitively reassured me.
I continue to use ForkLift 4 for its modernity (and especially for its speed in mounting network volumes) compared to the Finder which stands out to me with its slowness and obsolescence.
I am nostalgic for ForkLift 3 for the quality of its operation… 😉
Please send a screen recording about the issue if you want us to investigate it.
Hi, I invite you to imagine my point, more simply. In the FL Sidebar, you click on a volume button and the Mac startup volume button flashes for a short time.
Otherwise, I noticed another equally annoying problem: when I double-click on a .dmg installation file, the image goes up to the Desktop. Everything is fine. If I want to unmount this image by clicking on the appropriate icon in the FL Sidebar, the volume is unmounted correctly. On the other hand, if I double-click again on the same .dmg file, the image does not go up. And with Apple’s Disk Utility, you can see that the volume is still turned up. To get around this big problem, you have to unmount the volume with a contextual click on its icon on the Desktop.
Please send us screen recordings of these issues.
STILL not showing the coloured Tags in icloud directory, all are grey…..
WHEN will you fix it finally?????
Unfortunately, we don’t know what is causing that issue. We will fix it as soon as we can find out why for some users the tags are grey in the iCloud on Sonoma.
We found a workaround to fix this issue, so hopefully, the next version will be able to display the colors correctly.
You should add a feature that when you click the text above the files (the one that shows the folder path) it allows you to change the folder that is currently shown in that pane to a different folder that you can paste/type in the path for.
That feature is on our feature request list but I don’t know how likely it is that it will be added in the near future.
I have a feature request.
Is it possible to add the option “Compare” in the sync window for changed files?
When you hover over the line in the Sync Window where the items, which ForkLift wants to update, are shown, that line expands and additional info is being shown. Between the two sides, there are two arrows pointing in opposite directions. Click those arrows, and ForkLift will open the compare tool, which is set in the Settings.
